Some call them crazy.
Only a crazy person would hop on a contraption that can reach 70 miles per hour without the use of a seatbelt. Only a crazy person would drive three states away for a chance to risk their life flying across the ice like being shot out of a cannon.
But crazy to some is just another winter weekend for others. Welcome to the world of competitive iceboat racing--where speed limits are meant to be broken and the only crime is the possession of warm beer.
Out here, the ho-hum existence of day to day life becomes null. There are no emails to reply to, no reports to gloss over. Out here, there is only wind and ice. There is only the dream of finishing first, no matter how close to the edge you must travel.
